A note about SHOES: Most locations require gym shoes on their floors (no street shoes), so you
can wear a pair of gym shoes if you have them, or just socks.  What will be better for your
knees is a pair of shoes that allows you to slide.  See if you have a pair of
shoes with a smooth leather bottom (like dress shoes) or a pair you have worn
off all the tread, then clean the soles off thoroughly so there is no dirt or
grit on them and bring them (don't wear them) to class.  They can be your
"designated dance shoes" for the duration of the class.
